Armed Forces Service Centerat MSP International AirportLocated on the Lindbergh Terminal's Skyway Level, above Door 1 of the Ticketing Lobby, the Armed Forces Service Center is an "all free" stop for active-duty military personnel, their dependents, activated or drilling reservists, or national guardsmen. The center also serves active-duty Department of Defense and PHS employees on travel orders as well as other members of the uniformed services on active duty. In appreciation for all those who have served, military retirees and veterans are welcome to a cup of coffee, pastry and seating outside the center, on the mezzanine overlooking Ticketing. A dedicated volunteer staff operates the Armed Forces Service Center around the clock, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The center offers numerous amenities:
The Armed Forces Service Center is unique to Minnesota. It is not affiliated with the USO or with the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which owns and operates Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Rather, the one-of a-kind facility was founded by Maggie Purdum in 1970, after her son died in Vietnam. A non-profit organization, the center relies for funding on various veterans organizations and their auxiliaries, private businesses, and individuals. For more information, contact:
